Lance Corporal Newton, 27 Elliott Ter, woman, says, in a letter to his wife:
“I am still in the land of the living, but not as well as I should like to be.
I got a slight shock on Monday but I am pleased to say that I’m getting back to my usual strength. I thought it best to let you know, as I suppose someone else would have told you. However, you have no need to be upset, as I am getting on very nicely.”
