Medal For Boxing

Old friends of Lance/Bombardier Ronald Murfin (22), son of Mr. and Mrs. William Murfin, of 33, Hadfield Street, Wombwell, will be interested to know that he is stationed in the East, and is keeping up his boxing.

Murfin left Darfield Main Colliery three years ago to join the Royal Artillery, and has been out of the country for two years.

A photograph sent home shows him posing in front of a cup which his section won in boxing tournament. Murfin himself won a medal.

He is an old boy of John Street Council School and Wombwell Modern School.
