Company Sgt.-Major G. Lumb,  of Jump, Wombwell, has been awarded the D.C.M.

It is officially recored of him that he “put his posts in order under heavy machine gun fire.

Later, under -heavy fire, fie delivered shells to a battery in the line, showing fine courage and untiring energy.”
