Last night, at the monthly meeting of the Wombwell Urban Council, Lientenant-Colonel T. W. H. Mitchell presented to Drummer G. H. Jones (Y. and L.), of Low Valley, Wombwell, the Military Medal awarded him for gallantry at Ovillers on July 1, 1916, when he rescued a number of wounded officers and men from No Man’s Land under heavy fire.
