Taking the “Cure”
Private Vernon Heathcote (20), of Park Street, Wombwell, thinks that whatever drawbacks it might have otherwise, Army life is nevertheless good for the constitution.
Writing home to his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Heathcote, of 24. Wath Road, Wombwell, for many years caretakers of Park Street Council School, Wombwell, by whom he was brought up, he is able to say that he has never enjoyed better health in his life.
Private Heathcote is in the York and Lancaster Regiment, and is still in home training. He would like his old pals at Park Street, Wombwell, to know that he is happy and in good fettle.
