Likes His Job

James Gibson (27), son of Mr. and Mrs. 0. Gibson, of 16, Wood Street, Hough Lane, Wombwell, is engaged as a sick-bay attendant in the Navy and finds the work very interesting, so much so that he may take it up as a career when the war is over.

Gibson is an old boy of King’s Road and John Street Council Schools, Wombwell, and before joining the Navy eight years ago was a haulage hand at Cortonwood Colliery. He has had his present post twelve months.

His brother, Mr. Sam Gibson, now employed at Houghton Main Colliery, served his time in the Navy before the outbreak of war.

Another member of the family who is hankering after the sea is James Gibson’s ten years old nephew, George W, Gibson, whose turn it was to win a County Minor Scholarship at Jump Council School this year. George is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Gibson, of 196, Cemetery Road, Jump.
