Well-known in cricket circles as member of the Wood, Bros. (Wombwell), team, Private Eric Gibbins (28), son of Mr. William Gibbins, Hawson Street, Wombwell, and the late Mrs. Gibbins, is now serving in the Duke of Wellington’s Regiment.

He is a former scholar of Park Street Council School, Wombwell, and nine months ago left his work with a firm of builders to do his bit.

He is fit and well.
