Among local heroes to be decorated by the Mayor of Barnsley at the Barnsley Public Hall, to-night, will be Lance-corporal T. Mulligan, Y. and L.. of Barnsley, who will receive the Distinguished Conduct Medal for killing five Germans singlehanded, and for conspicuous bravery  and Sergeant J. E. Davies, R.A.M.C., of 32. George Street, Low Valley, Wombwell, who for most gallant conduct is to have both the Distinguished Conduct Medal and the Military Medal.
