One of the most promising of Wombwell’s young cricketers, David Caunt (18), sonof Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Caunt, of 62, Main Street, Wombwell is now a gunner in the Royal Artillery.

Gunner Caunt was outstanding as a left-hand batsman with Wombwell Main Cricket Club and the proud holder of a cap and medal, for which he qualified with Wombwell Modern School. Formerly employed by Messrs. William Johnson and Sons, builders. Wombwell, he Joined the Forces three months ago.
