Hand Hurt.
Sgt. Jack Carr (27), son of Mr. and Mrs. John Carr, 213, Cemetery Road, Jump, is at home with injuries sustained while training for active service. He was handling some missile when there was an explosion, and his left hand was badly smashed. He has lost one finger and, others are badly injured.
Prior to coming home to travel to a neighbouring town as an outpatient, he was in hospital ten weeks.
He joined an infantry regiment in May, 1940.
