Now In Germany
Mr. T. Bunting of 1, Loxley Avenue, Wombwell, has received news that his son Pte. Thomas Bunting is a prisoner of war in Germany. A few days earlier he had been informed that his son was missing after fighting in Italy.
Pte. Bunting is an old boy of Park Street Council School, Wombwell, and before he enlisted was employed as a haulage hand at Mitchell Main Colliery. He was drafted to India in 1942 and has recently been engaged in the fighting on the Italian mainland.
In his last letter he asked his family not to write until they heard from him again, as they were moving about. He also spoke about “a bit of a scuffle.”
He said the thing he most needed was the “South Yorkshire Times,” regularly.
