Wombwell – Officially Reported Dead
eldest son of Mr and Mrs Bruce, of 85 Brampton Rd, Wombwell Junction, who was reported missing on August 21, 1915, in the landing at Sulva Bay, is now officially reported killed about that date.
He enlisted at the outbreak of war, and set sail for the Dardanelles on July 1, 1915.
He has three brothers on active service in France.
