Soldier – Booker A. – Wounded, Dangerously Ill

Pte. A Booker.

Official intimation is to hand that Pte. A. Booker, Highland Light Infantry, elder son of Mr. and Mrs. F. Booker, confectioners, Wombwell, has been wounded.

Two official notifications have been received, the first stating that he had been admitted to hospital wounded, and the second acquainting his relatives that he lies dangerously ill in hospital in Prance.

The extent of his injuries are not yet known.

Much sympathy will go out. to the parents and family in this additional misfortune and anxiety, as it is only a fortnight since the announcement was made in these columns of the death in action, of a son-in-law Fitter :Staff-Sergt. B. Kilner, son of Mr. and Mrs. S. Kilner, of Mitchell’s Main.

Prior to joining the forces Private Booker was at the clerical staff of Messrs Rideal and son, solicitors, Barnsley
