Sisters To Broadcast

Radio fans In this district will be glad to hear that on Tuesday, November 30th. we are to have a “bit of Wombwell” on the wireless. Between the hours of 7.30 and e o’clock that evening, the sisters Freda and Florence Middleton, contralto and soprano vocalists respectively, are to entertain with a series of vocal duets from the North Regional Station. Already they have forwarded a list of works from which the selection will be made and the engagement has been duly confirmed following an audition.

These talented sisters are members of the well-known entertainers, the Middleton family quartet. The group consists of Mr. Harry Middleton, who plays the clarinet and saxophone, Mr. Harry Middleton Junr who also plays the clarinet, and Freda and Florence, who, play the violin and piano respectively. For a long time they have been giving their services in support of good causes in various parts of Yorkshire, and it is a matter of general satisfaction that their talent has been recognised by the broadcasting authorities.

There is no doubt that the offering of the two sisters will be greatly enjoyed. It is possible that in the near future the party will be depleted, for Mr. Harry Middleton Junr has made application to join the Life Guards Band at Windsor, and has already had one examination.
