Shocking Burning Fatality at Wombwell

A widow named Elizabeth Handley, 41, Park Street Wombwell, met his shocking death at her home on Thursday week.

Deceased, who is 65, got up in the morning to let the fire. She was in her nightdress, and it is supposed this caught fire..

The screams attracted her son, who was in bed, going down stairs he found her laying against the door unconscious, with her nightdress on fire.

He put out the flames, and called in assistance.

Dr Atkin attended the poor woman, she was so severely injured that she died during the afternoon.
