Three Golden Wedding Couples

The seven persons in this unique group are all related. Six of them represent three “Golden Wedding” couples and all seven are over seventy. Six brothers and sisters. Their ages total 518 years.

In the group are (standing) Mr. Fred Blacker (77), and Mr. Harry Lisle(70); (seated) Mrs. Edwin Lisle (73), Mr. John  Lisle (75), Mrs. John Lisle (74), Mr Edwin Lisle (73), and Mrs. Fred Blacker (76).

The photograph was taken at the Golden Wedding celebrations of Mr and Mrs. John Lisle, of Park Street. Wombwell on Tuesday

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Blacker, who live at Cawthorne Barnsley celebrating their Golden wedding last summer. Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Lisle will have been married fifty years next August. Therefore within twelve months six people in this group reach their Golden Weddings.

All these seven people are of the Lisle and Blacker families. Mr. John Lisle and his brother Mr. Edwin Lisle, married two Blacker sisters.

Mrs. John Lisle is the third of her family to celebrate their Golden Weddings. Mrs. Edwin Lisle will make a fourth next August. Another of her brothers, Mr. John Blacker of Stockport, had his Golden Wedding two years ago.   Mr. John Lisle is the second of his family to have a golden wedding; there will be a third next August
