Serious Fire at Wombwell
On Thursday afternoon about 4 o’clock the house and shop occupied by Mr Spooner, Park Street, Wombwell, near to the Ship Inn, the property of Mr Samuel Gowen, was found to be on fire.
Steps were immediately taken to extinguish the flames, but the furniture and beds in one room were completely destroyed, besides other damage.
The cause of the fire is unknown, and the loss estimated at about £40.
