Mr. and Mrs. G. Dobson. Leaving Wombwell

Mr. and Mrs. George Dobson, of Windlesham, 110 Wood Walk, will be leaving Wombwell in July to settle in the Channel Islands, having bought a house “Gay Lawns,” St. Brelades.

Their eight years old daughter, now at King’s Road Council School, Wombwell, will go to Jersey Girls’ College at St. Helier.

Bronchial trouble has prompted the move for Mr. Dobson, who is 35 and was born at ‘Wombwell, the younger son of the late Mr. Arthur Dobson, building contractor. Mr. Arthur Dobson lives at “Inglewood,” Wood Walk, Wombwell.

On the death of his father, Mr. Geoffrey Dobson took over the business along with his brother, Mr. Colin Dobson, of Wood Walk, who is remaining in Wombwell.

Mr. Geoffrey Dobson, married Miss Josephine Knowles, 271 Park Road, Barnsley, daughter of Mrs B Jackson, Barnsley and the late Mr. J. Knowles. He was founder vice-chairman of Wombwell Round Table in 1952, chairman the following year, and again last year Heplays cricket for Cawthorne.

Mrs. Dobson was founder vice-chairman and this year chairman of Wombwell Ladies’ Circle.
