Mr. Luke Eastwood, formerly a member of the staff of Park Street Council School, Wombwell, who retired some weeks ago, has settled at Holmpton, near Withernsea.

Mr. Eastwood has been a member of the Wombwell Parish Church choir for years.

Writing in the parish magazine, the Rev. J. St. Leger Blakeney, says: “We shall miss not only his commanding figure but his valuable help as a member of the choir and other organisations connected with the church. He is one that not only loves a joke but also enjoyed telling one, of which had a great number. One always felt better for having been in his company. We thank him most warmly for all that he has done on behalf of the church, and wish him and Mrs. Eastwood every blessing and happiness in their new home.”
