Salvation Army Captain to Leave

May 1927

Mexborough Swinton Times May 6, 1927

Capt WH Webb, who has had charge of the work of the Salvation Army in Wombwell since May of last year, is due to leave shortly.

The news will be received with general regret, for Capt Webb has not only commanded the respect and enthusiastic support of Salvationists, but has earned the admiration and esteem of towns-people generally.

Under his influence many new workers have been enrolled, and packed congregations have been the order at the weekend services.

While at Wombwell Capt Webb married Miss Isabel Duncan, daughter of major and Mrs Duncan, well known salvation S of Nottingham. It has not yet been decided where Capt Webster go, nor has his successor been appointed.

He will address a farewell meeting on Wednesday, May 11
