Able-Seaman Ernest Burrow, of 89, Wood Walk, Wombwell, volunteered for the Navy in June, 1940.

Before joining the Navy he worked at Contonwood Colliery and is an old boy of Brampton Ellis School. He is serving in one of H.M. Submarines, and is on a foreign station in America. He likes the life and has much excitement.

He is married and has a daughter. He is the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Burrow, of 19, Wath Road. Brampton.
