Runaway Pony Hits Lorry, Drops Dead
A Pony belonging to Mr. Roy Bailey, miner, Blythe Street, Wombwell, was being unharnessed at a stable in Barnsley Road when it took fright, ran into the street, collided head-on with a lorry, staggered another 60 yards, and dropped dead.
The pony took with it the stable door to which It had been hitched by a neighbour’s boy.
