Road Accident

Mr. Joseph Winder, of 85. Hough Lane, Wombwell, general secretary of the Yorkshire Mine Deputies Association, was injured, in an accident on the Great North Road at Darrington, on Sunday, and was taken to hospital at Pontefract.

Mrs. Winder, who was driving with him, suffered from shock. It is stated that their car skidded on the icy road and overturned. Mr. Winder’s injuries are to his face and shoulder.

Mr. Winder was formerly President of the Y.D.A. and a member of the Wombwell U.D.C. Though his office is in Barnsley and his duties carry him all over the county, he retains a keen interest in Wombwell affairs and on Saturday night presided at the annual meeting of the Wombwell Main Welfare Athletic Club.
