Trespass At Wath

At Rotherham West Riding Police Cour: on Monday, Asa Parkin (20), trammer, 13, Hall Street, Wombwell , Walter Pettinger (22) trammer, 38, off Park Street, Wombwell: and William Pettinger (19), haulage hand, 6, Welton Avenue, Brampton Bierlow, were fined 7s. 6d, each for having trespassed on the L.N.E.R. railway, near Cortonwood Colliery, Wath on May 24th.

P.c. Green , who proved the case, said that when told they would be reported Parkin replied, “We were out for sport.” and William Pettinger said, “We were trying to get a rat.”

The men had two dogs with them and were ratting.
