Railway Strike
The railway stoppage must have been in unpleasant development for the people who had been away holidaying
There was quite a large number of local families at Scarborough and Blackpool especially from Wombwell, it being Wombwell Feast last week. Imagine their feeling on Saturday when they wanted to come home and there were no trains to take them. Happily many have been able to return by motor, and in the matter of fares a good number of them have got back very reasonably.
No ono would grumble at the price charged by one Wombwell Firm, vis, 20s. from Scarborough especially considering that the motor had to do the double journey.
