Prize Winner at Pontefract Music Festival

Miss Maria Lynn, daughter of Mrs. Lynn, of Blythe Street, Wombwell, has received, the congratulations of many friends on her success at the Pontefract Musical Festival.

Miss Lynn won first prize in the soprano class of fifteen entries under the adjudication of Sir Richard

Terry. The test piece was ‘Orpheus with his lute.’

Miss Lynn, who is only sixteen, has a voice of rich quality.

As a girl she took premier honours twice Elsecar and has won prizes at other festivals.
