Postman Bitten
Wombwell Dog’s “One Over” ”
“The best advice we can give you is to have a dog like that destroyed.” said the Chairman of the Barnsley Bench, Mr. B. Norton at Barnsley on Wednesday to Leonard Parker, his corner, Wombwell, who W 3 summoned for keeping a dangerous dog —anAlsatian.
Walter Pollandine, postman. 71, St, George’s Road. Barnsley, said he was delivering letters at Parker’s house In High Street, Wombwell, when the dog came out. First it sniffed at his trousers and as he turned away it bit his left leg. He “shoo-ed ” it away, but as he turned again it bit his right leg.
P.C. Hannah said Pollandine showed him the places where the dog had bitten him.
The Chairman: A dog is supposed to be allowed one bite; this has bitten twice. We shall order you to pay the costs and keep the dog under control.
