Parting Gift

In appreciation of their work in the circuit and as a token of personal regard, Methodist women of Broomhill have presented to Mrs Sheldrake, wife of the Rev Charles Hunter Sheldrake, a leather handbag and handkerchiefs.

Mr and Mrs Sheldrake are leaving for York.

The presentation was made by Mrs Beevers at a United meeting of the society and Sisterhood at BroomhillC Church last weekend when Mrs H Swain presided.

In handling the gift to Mrs Sheldrake Mrs Beevers said the recipient should be sure that the love and affection of every member of the church went with it. Mrs Sheldrake had always shown a willingness to help them in any way and her company and sweet influence had always been highly appreciated. They were sorry she was going, felt that they would like to offer some token of what they thought about her.

Mrs Sheldrake said the gift came as a complete surprise. She had always a deep affection for Broomhill and always had been happy among the members there.
