Another notable addition to the interior beauties of Wombwell Parish Church is this striking stained-glass window installed by the Oxley family:

“In loving remembrance of Charles Harrison and Ellen Jane Oxley; also their sons, Lt Donald Oxley, RAF, and Hector Oxley.”

The figures are the Angel Gabriel, the Child Jesus and the Blessed Virgin.

Mr Oxley was the chief engineer at Wombwell Main Colliery for many years
