Mr Tom Bradley, who has had the unusual experience of being elected to the Wombwell Urban District Council at the first time of asking, without a contest, having been given a walkover in the North Ward, where the retiring member, Mr Irving Washington, is not seeking re-election.

Mr Bradley is a nominee of the Labour Party and a railwayman. He is also a Methodist and lay preacher.
