New Appointment for Cambridge Man

Mr W.E. Barron,. B, A., only son of Mr and Mrs. Albert Barron, of Knoll Beck Road, Wombwell, formerly of Adwick Road, Mexborough, has been appointed Senior English master to the Brentwood Grammar School, Essex.

Mr. Barron, who is an old student of the Mexborough Secondary School, has specialised in English for the last three years at Jesus College, Cambridge, and received the degree of Bachelor of Arts (Honours) this year.

Brentwood —which is situated in the prettiest part of Essex, among many acres of playing fields- is an old public school, founded by Sir Anthony Browne in 1557. The school has 700 boys in attendance, half of whom are resident; and a stall of over 30 masters, mostly Oxford and Cambridge men.

Mr. Barron, who will superintend the English work of the school generally, is also appointed dramatic coach. The school has a strong dramatic tradition, and a permanent repertoire of Shakespeare.

Mr. Barron will take up his duties in September.
