Nancy Riley, seven year old daughter of Mr and Mrs John Riley, 15 Ings Rd, Wombwell, is to be Queen of May at St Michael’s Roman Catholic schools, Wombwell this year.

In that capacity she will be the leading figure in the pageantry on Sunday, May 9 – the Sunday preceding the coronation.

As usual there will be a parade of children and various church organisation from the schools in Stoneyford, Road to the site of the proposed new church in Park Street.

Nancy, who acted as chamber last year, is proud of her promotion.

This year’s cushion bearer will be Tony Green, son of Mr and Mrs Fred Green, 46, Wath Rd,
