Young men born during the period October 1st, 1933, to December 31st 1933, both dates inclusive will be required to register under the National Service Acts, 1948 to 1950, on Saturday, December 1st.

Mr. Norman Yardley, captain of the Yorkshire County Cricket team, will be the principal guest at the annual dinner next Wednesday of the Swinton Athletic Club.

The revised date for the annual dinner of the Mexborough and District Rotary Club, is Tuesday February 19th, when the principal guest will be the Master Cutler, Mr. G. T Flather, and the Mistress Cutler.

Mr. C. M. Hattersley of Swinton, who has spent the last few months in Alberta, Canada, is due to sail from Quebec on his homeward journey on Nov. 27th.

Sheffield Regional Hospital Board have recommended that two wards at Conisbrough Hospital be equipped for occupation by chronic sick patients, at an estimated cost of £5,500.

Mr. P. Doyle (Goldthorpe) recently appointed delegate by Mexborough branch of the National Society of Painters to the National Federation of Building Trade Operatives has been appointed to sit on the Local Joint Council and the Local Joint Apprenticeship Committee of the Building Trade.  Mr. Doyle was also appointed a member of Mexborough Schofield Technical College Advisory Committee.
