Love Feast Leader At 94
Wombwell G.O.M. Will Be Up Early

Mr Joseph Taylor, Wombwell’s veteran Shoemaker, who is 94, is to officiate as leader of the annual love feast at Park St, Methodist Church, Wombwell, next Sunday.

He has performed this duty it for 64 years, been absent on only two occasions. The services time for 7 AM and Mr Taylor will be out of bed an hour earlier.

He told me today that it wasn’t no new experience for him to get up at that hour.

“They used all the service at 6 AM, he said, “and I was never late.”

This week Mr Taylor travelled to Misterton, Notts, to see the little church in which he was married 74 years ago.
