Mexborough and Swinton Times, May 25, 1928
Mr. Sam Heason, who for nearly 20 years has been chief booking clerk at the London and North – Eastern Railway Station at Wombwell, has received the appointment of chief clerk at the L. and N.E. Railway Station at Worksop.
This is a promotion, and his many friends at Wombwell heartily congratulate him upon it.
Mr. Heason has worked on the railway from boyhood. His home is at Worksop–ae Wombwell Midland League football enthusiasts well know—and it is curious that he should return to the spot at which he started his railway career. Before coming to Wombwell he was at the Broughton Lane station for a short period on the same system.
During the war and for two years afterwards he served in the Royal Engineers, being an expert signaller.
