Lightning Strikes Down Chimney
Like Santa Claus it came down the chimney but was not so welcome. Mrs. Greaves (left) and Mrs. Whittingham (right), along with their children, had narrow escapes on Saturday when lightning struck Mrs. Whittingham’s house in Hall Street, Wombwell,
Mrs. Greaves, who was nursing the little girl, felt the shock in her hands. Picture shows how the plaster was ripped off the bedroom wall.
