Improvements at Wombwell
Proposals for New Post Office and Hotel
Arising out of a scheme for the widening of High Street, Wombwell, proposals involving the erection of a new post office, the reconstruction of an hotel, and the establishment of a multiple store have been made to the local authority.
It proposed to erect all these buildings on the new improvement line to the East High Street, which is to be extended to a width of 60 to 70 feet from Marsh Street to Pearson Field.
It is stated that it is the Intention of the Post Office to house the telephone services in a separate building and to put Wombwell on the automatic system
