Husband, Wife Die Same Day
After Henry Jackson (62), a colliery engine -winder, of Dove row, Hoyle Mill, Barnsley, had collapsed and died at his home last night, his wife. Emma (59) exclaimed: “I cannot live without him.”
Then she collapsed from shock and died directly afterwards.
The couple, who were said to be “very devoted.” had been married for 38 years.
Mr. Jack Son had cycled home from work, went upstairs to change his clothes. Coming down again he had a seizure, fell on the kitchen floor and died almost at once.
He had worked at Mitchell Main Colliery, Wombwell, for nearly 50 years.
