Grand Master of Druids.
Wombwell Recognition of Mr. Ben Turner’s Appointment.
There was a large and representative gathering at the Anglers’ Inn, Wombwell, last night, when, in honour of his appointment as National Grand Master of the Order of Druids, Mr. Ben Turner was presented with gold watch, suitably inscribed.
The presentation was made Mr. J. W. Shaw (Manchester), General Secretary of the Order.
Mr. Shaw paid high tribute to the service Mr. Turner had rendered to the Order over a long period of years, and to the ability he had displayed discharging his important duties.
Mr. Turner is a native Hoyland Common, and has been prominent in mining circles in South Yorkshire for many years. At present he holds an important administrative position at Cortonwood.
