Golden Wedding.
Mr. and Mrs. William Brooke celebrate their Golden Wedding on April 18th, and many residents of Wombwell and district will join in extending congratulations to them.
They were married by the Rev Flaxman at St. Mary’s Church, Wombwell, on April 18th, 1892, and are now living in retirement at Knafferton, near Driffield.
Mrs. Brooke was, before marriage, Miss Jane Parkin, and they have nine surviving children, five sons and four daughters.
The eldest son, Thomas Raymond, was killed in the last war. Two other sons joined up in the present conflict, and one is serving in England, while the other is a prisoner of war in Germany.
There are 28 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
