“Glaring’’ Dole Fraud

Drew £1 19s. Od. for 8 Days Was Working

For making false statements to obtain unemployment benefit, Stanley Lindley (22), bus driver, of Gower Street, Wombwell, was fined £5 at Barnsley to-day.

It was stated be had drawn £1 19s. in respect of eight days on which he was working.

Mr. J. G. E. Rideal (prosecuting) said it was the most glaring case he had had 20 years.

Similarly summoned, John William Leake, bus driver, Gower Street, Wombwell, was fined £3 and costs, and Fred Carr, bus conductor, School Street, Darfield. 20s. and costs
