Found Drowned at Wombwell
A man employed at Wombwell gasworks was getting home yesterday, when he saw a body in the Dearne and Dove Canal. On being taken out of the water the body was found to be that of Richard Carr, aged 68, of Church St, Wombwell.
The deceased lived the greater part of his life in Wombwell. He said to have been unable to follow his employment for last 15 weeks, and complained of pains in the head.
He was cheerfully went to bed on Saturday night, but his wife missed him about 6 o’clock in the morning
