Another 15s. has gone to Mrs. Churchill from Wombwell as a “token ” gift to the gallant Russians. This time the sender is Barbara Joan Steeples, of 24, Loxley Avenue, organiser of backyard concerts.

Barbara, whose speciality is tap dancing, has been assisted by Pat Minett and a few other girls, most of whom are pupils at King’s Road Council School.

Mrs Churchill has sent the usual signed letter of appreciation from 10, Downing Street.
