Mexborough & Swinton Times – Friday 1st April 1932
WOMBWELL URBAN DISTRICT COUNCIL
APRIL 2nd, 1932
TO THE ELECTORS OF THE CENTRAL WARD
Ladies and Gentlemen,
It gives me a great deal of pleasure to again offer my services to you as a Candidate for the above. Ward at the forthcoming Election on April 2nd. I must thank you for the opportunity afforded me during my term of office. It has been an education to me and made me deeply interested in the Town’s affairs. So, you will readily understand my willingness to offer my services again. It has been a pleasure to me to see the turn in the right direction with regard to the price of gas, and I am hoping in the future to see further reductions take place as rapidly as increases were put on. Should my efforts to retain the seat on the Council be successful, the Electorate can be assured of a member that will try to serve them to the best of his ability, both by attendance and honesty of purpose, striving to give justice to all classes. I shall esteem it a favour and an appreciation of my efforts for you during the past three years should you again elect me as your candidate. I do not hold myself to any Party, but use my own judgment to what consider beneficial to all. I remain.
Yours faithfully,
VICTOR EDWARD BURROWS.
25, Mato Street. Wombwell.
