Drowned in a Peggy Tub at Wombwell

On Wednesday a child, daughter of Mr William Slater, of Littlefield Road was drowned.

While the mother was in the yard hanging out close to dry, she went to the Peggy tub, overbalanced herself, and felling head for months, where she was found a few minutes later, like being extinct.

The child was just over two years old.
