Death by Drowning.

On Saturday night last an accident, which has terminated fatally, occurred at Wombwell.

It appears that a woman named Knowles, about half-past eleven o’clock, went out to look for her husband, and by some means got into the canal. She was taken out, but died about four hours afterwards, it is supposed, from exhaustion.

Fatal Occurrence

An accident, which terminated fatally, happened to poor woman named Knowles, wife of Job Knowles, of Wombwell.

The deceased, about 11 PM went in search of her husband, and accidentally fell into Dove and Dearne canal at Worsbrough Dale.

She managed after great exertions to reach the bank; but died about half-past three on Sunday morning from exhaustion, caused by a great efforts and immersion in the water.
