Cortonwood lost at home on Saturday to Thurcroft, who made 139 for 9. H. Orridge 41, E Edwards 49).
Cortonwood could only manap 83 (H Walters 34), against the bowling of Orridge (6 for 51) and Edwards (4 for 31). H. Atkinson had the best bowling return for Cortonwood with 4 for 41.

Wath scored 109 for 7 declared at Bramall Lane on Saturday, and in the limited time available Sheffield United were only able to reply with 81 for 4. Heaton (30), and Brookes (37 not out), were chief scorers for Wath and United’s most successful howler was Oswald, who took 4 for 24. Bottomley made 50 not out for the home side.
