Colin Ellis Making Quick Impression

Wombwell Athletic think they have discovered future star in 19 year old Colin Ellis, who earlier this season was playing with Wombwell Main.

Colin made his first appearance for the Athletic in a washed-out match against Sheffield United “A,” at Hough Lane, and did enough to earn selection to play in the Yorkshire League match at Ossett last Saturday.

With “Dizzy” Burton as his inside partner on the right wing, the small, but clever, Ellis was the star in the Athletics 5-1 win.

Four of the goal came the first 20 minutes after the start of the second half to which the Athletic play brilliant football.

Doug Derby, centre forward, played his best game of the season and scored three of the goals.
