Cobbling Boots at 91

To mark the anniversary at the Methodist (former Wesleyan) Church in Park Street Wombwell tomorrow, a “love feast” will be held at 7 a.m.

This custom has been observed for half a century.

For the ninth year in succession the service will be conducted by Mr Joseph Taylor, the oldest member, who is in his 92nd year. A cobbler all his life, he can still make a pair of boots by hand.
