Clever Tap Dancer.
Miss Mavis Burrows, daughter of Mr. T. H. Burrows., J.P., and Mrs. Burrows, of Summer Lane, Wombwell, has added to her many laurels as a dancer by winning a medal and certificate at the Doncaster Royal Infirmary Dance Festival. The honour was gained with Miss Bunty Bird, of Doncaster, in the open section of the tap-duet class.
For the benefit of Wombwell friends the number was repeated at the Futurist Dance Hall, Wombwell, last Saturday night, when Mr. George Lazenby accompanied with the Park Parade. Miss Burrows, who, from being a very small child, has shown special aptitude for dancing, had a chance of being booked for pantomime last year, but her parents insisted that she should finish her course at Barnsley Girls’ High School.
She won a certificate in the tap solo class at a festival at Barnsley Temperance Institute at Elsecar.
